Durham Fell Runners
Durham Fell Runners (DFR) began in 2002 where like-minded runners met with an idea to establish a fell running club. Durham Fell Runners is the only fell running club based in County Durham. We have regular training sessions at 7pm on Thursday evenings, meeting in the visitor’s centre car park at Hamsterley Forest. We also meet on Tuesday evenings for women only activities and is suitable for fell running novices or women wishing to try it. Everyone is welcome, and sessions cater for people of all ability, but do expect a challenge. As we meet all year round, depending on the time of year, you may need a head torch and other kit.
We have a huge amount of running experience amongst our members, who compete in events of all distances locally, nationally, and sometimes internationally. Our members are happy to share their experience and to give advice and support on any aspects of fell or trail running.
Contact us via our Facebook page Durham fell runners.
