Murton Cricket Club

Murton Cricket Club operates 7 teams. 3 Senior Teams and 4 junior sides at Under 18, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 age groups. We operate in the Durham Cricket League at senior level and the Durham Cricket Board Junior League for our junior teams. We provide cricket opportunities to all ages and abilities. Whilst we operate out of Murton Cricket Club, which has a licensed Bar and function room, the actual Club pavilion is ran and operated by the Murton Welfare Association, so we get little or no support financially from the Bar or Welfare Association, so we rely on fund-raising functions and events throughout the course of the year. This has been since 2010 when our old pavilion which was owned by the Welfare Association, but were responsible for the up keep inside and the running of the bar, was condemned structurally and was knocked down and replaced by a ‘multi-purpose’ facility which the welfare took over completely.
