Byers Green Ju-Jitsu Club

BGJJC has been running for over 10 years now with an aim to appeal to all, by bringing the Traditional into the Modern World of Martial Arts.
SENSEI ANDREW SHELDON RENSHI – HEAD COACH – Renshi Andrew Sheldon is Head Coach & Founder of BGJJC. He has been in Budo Martial Arts & Fight Sports for well over 20 years in different Disciplines.
Full-Contact Karate/Kickboxing, Iaido, Ju-Jitsu (Myo Shin Ryu)
THE TRAINING
Training evening are Mondays & Thursdays
7:00pm – 8:15pm. (Juniors-U16) / 7:00 – 9:00 (Seniors)
A night of training would consist of firstly an Opening Full Rei (Japanese Practice).
Then an adequate and compulsory Warm-Up and Ukemi (Break-Falls).
Next on to Bag & Pad Work – Punching, Kicking, Blocking, Stretching, Resistance and More.
Extra Tuition – Non-Syllabus Training from any Instructor, this section could include anything from:
– Defence against Street Weaponry Knife, Bottles and More
– Maybe Multiple Attackers and Learning Reasonable Force to Defend yourself within the Law.
– Streetwise Practical Self Defence.

5th Element Jiu Jitsu Academy

“We are a Grappling Martials Arts Club that provides expert level instructor led sessions in Jiu Jitsu & Submission Wrestling. We incorporate any style that will give us results taking inspiration from Freestyle, Folkstyle, Greco-Roman & Judo, all guided towards being a well-rounded Grappler. Our club is for all ages from 4 years to over sixty. For our adults we have a very beginner friendly progression to the programme, there are four levels – Foundations, all levels, Fundamentals & Advanced which will give never ending challenges and character development. For our Kids programme, we currently have three ages groups – 4-5yrs, U10s, U14s. There are three levels for the U10 & U14 – Bronze, Silver & Gold. Creating Champions on and off the mat.”
