Aycliffe Running Club
Running
The aim of the club is to develop an individual’s fitness and athletic ability in an enjoyable and safe environment to the point where he/she may choose to compete on equal terms with athletes from other clubs. Non-competitive members who enjoy the fitness aspect of training are also welcomed and encouraged.
Club subscriptions are payable on joining and are renewable annually in January. Club members are registered with the England Athletics., and for event purposes are then “Attached Runners”, which makes entry to events cheaper and earns discount on purchases from many sports retailers.
Training Sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These are generally held at the Oak Leaf Sports Complex on Tuesday evenings at 19:00 and Shildon Stadium 2000 on Thursday evenings at 18:30. Training runs are sometimes held on Sunday mornings and these are communicated via email or announced at the training sessions.
Please remember that all of the coaches give up their free time to coach the athletes and should be given the appropriate respect.
The Club competes in the North Yorkshire and South Durham Winter Cross Country League. Other events are available, such as the North E
