Established in 1860 and now the largest rowing club in the north east with 350 members aged from 12 to over 80 both male and female. Affiliated to British Rowing as a racing club we also have a large recreational membership including day time sessions for retired people.
We have a large team of British Rowing level 2 and 3 qualified coaches and a large and varied fleet of racing boats and recreational boats.
The Club’s premises were built in 2007 with a purpose built gym , fitness room , conference and meeting room , clubroom and bar and full male and female changing facilities. The building and facilities are all compliant with Sport England requirements for adaptive facilities for people with disabilities.
Other users of our premises include Dragon Boat Club , Canoeists, Durham Power Lifting Club, Durham Velo Cycle Club, Junior Park Run, Linux Computer Users and Durham Musical Theatre Company.
Durham Amateur Rowing Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) and has Clubmark accreditation.
