Croquet Durham

Croquet Durham operates four afternoons a week from mid April to mid September using the bowling greens at Chester-le-Street Riverside Park.
We play Golf Croquet, which is a very social activity involving moderate exercise in the open air. New recruits are always welcome, and all members have the use of our equipment as well as access to coaching from our more experienced players.
We offer a number of free introductory sessions to allow prospective members to get used to the feel of the game and hopefully take it up actively. The only requirement is the use of flat-soled shoes to help protect the lawns.

Bishop Bounders

We are a small but friendly group ran by volunteers that have both run leader and first aid qualifications. We try hard to run together as a group at a conversational pace supporting each other as we go. Each session will start with a 5–10 minute warm up, the run then a cool down. Depending on who attends each week we aim at running between 7 -7.3 minutes per km. A lot of people that attend these session recently graduated from C25K and are relatively new to running.
We run three sessions a week. Monday night is our long run session; we are currently running 10km on a Monday night although the group will be splitting April until September one leader starting to run beyond 10km as a lot of people are doing the GNR. The other leader will continue to run 10km.
Tuesday night is a 5km run that is offered to everybody to those newly graduated from C25K to those just coming back to running after a long break.
Friday morning is usually 5km but it very much depends on who attends. Our run leader is flexible and adapts the session to the needs of the runners in attendance.
To book any of these sessions please use the runtogether website to search for Bishop Bounders.
